Omphalocele is a relative rare congenital anomaly which has been reported to occure about once in every 5,000 to 10,000 births. Although the treatment of omphalocele has been made choice of one stage operation and conservative treatment according to their size of the abdominal wall, the prognosis is not still much expectable with high mortality.
Here, a case of omphalocele of 8 hours old infant which could be classified clinically as a large intact, ruptured omphaloce of short duration was presented and the literature on the omphalocele were briefly reviewed.
